Good neighbours make a huge difference. Today afternoon, the Society visited Maula Prison. The purpose of the visit was to donate sanitary supplies with rising concerns over the Coronavirus pandemic. The items donated were 20 tapped buckets, 20 basins and hand soaps. Receiving the donation on behalf of the Officer in Charge, Senior Superintendent and Station Officer, Ibrahim Immanuel Sinde, expressed gratitude towards the donation as it will help inmates to practice cleanliness in order to prevent contraction and spread of the coronavirus. “This kind gesture will help us reach out to the inmates since the prison is currently holding 2,878 prisoners against its intended capacity of 500. On behalf of the Officer in Charge,we are very appreciative of this donation.” Speaking on behalf of the Chairman and the whole Board, Mr Charles Sineta expressed the urgent need to reach out. “As government is doing its best to curb a possible Coronavirus infestation, we as a society felt the need to assist government’s efforts. Our members have even composed songs to sensitize the public. This donation is not enough but it will go a long way helping sanitary conditions in these premises”
