Copyright Society of Malawi (Cosoma) on Wednesday seized pirated material both local and foreign during a raid which they carried out.
Cosoma’s senior licensing officer Rosario Kamanga confirmed the development yesterday saying the copies they confiscated totalled 4,463 and that it included foreign movie DVDs and music videos. He also said that the copies included translation copies of foreign movies.
Kamanga said the raid was a continuation of their investigation of late Grace Chinga's yet to be released pirated songs and a DVD of her funeral ceremony which pirates took advantage and is currently being sold on the market without the knowledge of the family. Kamanga said the pirated works of Grace Chinga were stumbled on by her brother Davie.
